Mottled Duck
When
this strange looking duck was found by Dave Lambeth on Apr 14, 2003 in a Kellys
Slough wetland, he didn't know what it was until after studying images
downloaded on the computer. There is no doubt that it is a male Mottled Duck,
normally found only within a few hundred miles of the Gulf coast. It was a first
state record for North Dakota. How it wound up in North Dakota can never be known.
