Sharp-Shinned Hawk
This image of a Sharp-shinned
Hawk was taken by Rich Crawford in his backyard during the winter of 2005-2006.
Note the stick to the left of the bird which measures 11 inches long. This
allowed Rich to estimate the length of the bird at about 12.5 inches, which is
the expected size for a female. How nice of the hawk to align with the
stick!
