Yellow-billed Loon
North Dakota's first accepted record for Yellow-billed Loon was for this bird found by Eve Freeberg along US 281 a few miles north of Minnewaukan. Birders from across the state and the surrounding region traveled to see the bird. Although distinction from Common Loon can be difficult, this bird appeared to be a well-marked Yellow-billed Loon.
